Chris is an engineer who went to Virginia Tech for both his undergraduate and Masters degrees. After working for several years in the automotive industry, a bicycling injury changed his life. On July 23rd 2016, Chris sustained a spinal cord injury to his C5 vertebrae that has left him confined to a motorized wheelchair without use of his legs and only partial use of his arms and hands.

My spinal cord injury had me down until I met Diveheart. The people there helped me escape from my wheelchair and experience freedom.Now I want to help others do the same, so that they can focus on what they can do, instead of what they can’t do. As a Diveheart ambassador and adaptive training advisor I want to help the amazing people who are helping children, veterans and others with disabilities.

I’m excited and ready to go back to Cozumel this April and December and am reaching out asking you to help me help adaptive divers go diving! Last year I had 15 amazing people step up and help me achieve my fundraising goal. Thank you to each of you. Last year at the December Diveheart trip we had over 50 people, made up of adaptive divers, buddies & instructors, and non-diving family members.
